Hotspots and their weaknesses: "creation of WiFi access point for roadwarrior using free software". Many ways exist for the creation of a hotspot, which vary both for the resources emplyed and the technologies used.
Throughout the seminar, the main hotspot technologies will be presented, focusing on their weaknesses and strengths. All the important aspects will be considered; from installation, to day-by-day management, to use by the final user.
A step-by-step process for the creation of a hotspot will be shown, based entirely on free software, and some basic guidelines for the creation of a minimal hotspot for embedded systems will be presented.
The procedure for the creation of a hotspot will also be an occasion to show some basic techniques that can be used to bypass administrator-defined policies, in case some cop-outs were left behind.
